The group performed a short battle scene to highlight the human cost of war and between shows, formed part of the Tournament exhibition demonstrating to the public the differences between modern weaponry and equipment compared to that of 150 years ago.
The theme of this year’s tournament was the ‘special relationship’ between
Nigel went on to take part in a World War 1 scenario that involved a line of blinded soldiers and other casualties being led through the arena by a nurse whilst the Massed Bands of the Grenadier and Scots Guards played a variety of tunes from the period.
Nigel commented: “It was a lot of hard work with a lot of repetition during the rehearsals but exciting and extremely satisfying when it all came together in the show. SoSkAn go to various military shows and other similar public events to show what life was like during this period however this years British Military Tournament was especually close to my heart as my son is a current serving member of the Royal Artillery Regiment.”
