Ready mix at Ringmer
The mortar is prepared with a 24-hour retarder. This means that it can be used immediately and will not start to ‘go off’ in the bag until 24 hours after it has been batched. Once laid, it will start to set as the water content is absorbed into the bricks, blocks or slabs.
The mortar will be batched on site in either 0.25m3 or 0.125m3 quantities. Customers will be able to collect it in open back trucks or have it delivered to site in polythene lined bags. A 0.25 m3 batch will lay approx 700 bricks, while a 0.125 m3 batch will lay approx 350 bricks.
This is a truly innovative development by Chandlers, which offers our customers the following fantastic advantages:
· No mixing will be required on site so no plant needs to be taken to the job; no power or water are needed and possibly not even a labourer!
· In domestic situations or on restricted sites less space will be needed as no cement mixer is required so the site will be cleaner.
· The potential Health & Safety issues of working on domestic properties with plant and machinery are drastically reduced.
· The mortar is of a consistent verifiable mix - an increasingly important issue for the NHBC.
· Mortar left over at the end of the day is still contained in its bag. So it’s easy to dispose of and no washing down required!
