Chandlers Building Supplies, the East Sussex - based builders' merchant, has reached an agreement with Wienerberger to be distributors in Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire for its Porotherm thin joint clay block walling system.
Richard Skinner, Commercial Director at Chandlers, commented "We are delighted to obtain this supply agreement with Wienerberger. We believe that Porotherm is an excellent product that will, over the coming years, bring outstanding value to house builders. In Wienerberger, we have a supply partner of the very highest calibre; investing in this innovative construction method, and look forward to working with them to develop this innovative product in the UK market."
Porotherm blocks are made using up to 30 per cent recycled content and, due to its honeycomb design, less clay. Its thin joint mortar uses 90 per cent less water than traditional methods and is mixed in smaller batches, thereby reducing waste, while the precision engineered shape and quick drying joints allow for swift assembly of walls and condensed construction programmes.
Porotherm, established for more than 30 years on the continent, is a quick, cost efficient and modern method of construction. The systemis manufactured by Wienerberger, the world's largest producer of bricks and number one in the European clay roof tile market, it also holds leading positions in paver markets across Central and Eastern Europe.
