Chandlers support for vocational courses

With university tution fees becoming increasing unaffordable to many young people, vocational college courses are becoming more important than ever as an alternative career route. Local independent builders merchants, Chandlers Building Supplies, is keen to nurture talent within the community and supports the vocational scheme through its sponsorship of the bricklaying course at Sussex Downs Vocational College. 

On Thursday 13^th October, Eastbourne Vocational College (EVoC), part of Sussex Downs College, held its annual Student Awards Evening to celebrate the success of its students. Nigel Williams, Ringmer Sales Office Manager, presented Fraser Caygill with his Diploma in Brickwork, Level 3.

In total, 19 award-winning students received certificates and gift vouchers for their outstanding achievements during the past year. Eastbourne deputy Mayor Councillor Mike Thompson was a special guest at the evening.

Nigel Williams, Ringmer Sales Office Manager, commented: “At Chandlers we are proud to sponsor the bricklaying course. The awards evening was an opportunity to celebrate the success of all the students who I am in no doubt have bright futures ahead of them.”
