Chandlers Construct Practical Skills for Students Futures
The team of seven students constructed the show case walls to enable Chandlers customers to visualise how the different brick types look when they form part of a construction.
This initiative has not only been of benefit to the students who were able to apply their theoretical learning to practical situations but also to Chandlers who now has a superior, customer friendly display area.
Nigel Williams, Sales Office Manager at Chandlers, said: “We have created an excellent display area which not only shows our products off to our customers, but has allowed the students to use their skills away from the classroom in a real environment.”
“The results are outstanding. We have a long association with the college and have been pleased to sponsor various activities there; including awards evenings and this is the latest example of our ongoing commitment.”
Nigel Edwards, Brickwork Lecturer at Sussex Downs College said: “The results of this project are excellent and the lads have created some very neat and tidy pieces.”
This project exemplifies Chandlers’ contribution to the local community. Chandlers is always keen to give back to the local community and embrace opportunities to support neighbouring causes.
